A wram dry growing season in Geelong. A settled flowering led to good crop levels and vineyards enjoyed and even warmer summer, which allowed full flavour ripeness whilst still retaining good acidity.
Hard harvested fruit was firmly whole bunch pressed to release the pinot gris full flavour profile. Natural ferment occurred in older French barrels. The wines was left to unwind and age slowly on its ferment lees to add generosity. After 8 months the wine was racked and filtered prior to bottling in September 2018.
Light white straw, green hue and brilliant clarity.
Yellow peach and musk and complemented by pops of apricot and floral aromas. The nose is soft and sweet, with an alluring promise of freshness.
Fresh papaya with pithy quince flow onto the palate with complex undertones of nutmeg and ginger spice. The rich, evolving palate is supple and all-alluring. A hint of marzipan creeps in at the finish, leaving the drinker with a reason to go back in for more. A great example of maritime Pinot Gris.
