Another terrifi c season in Geelong. Spring was settled and dry, resulting even fl owering and good fruit set. Careful shoot thinning was carried out by the vineyard team to ensure a balanced crop. Flavours developed consistently across the vineyard and fruit was carefully picked to ensure balanced natural acidity with excellent concentration and presence.
All fruit was hand picked and whole bunch pressed then fermented in a mix of new (24%) and used French oak hogsheads, utilising the native yeast from the berries. The wine remained in contact with lees for eight months before bottling on 12 December 2015
Medium straw with green hues.
White peach, some tropical notes, a touch of
spice and alluring salty maritime hints.
Beautiful concentration paired with a length and poise provided by a vibrant line of acidity. The fl avours of white peach, nectarine and a touch of nougat build to a long, seamless fi nish. This is a sumptious Chardonnay that still maintains lightness of foot; no doubt it will repay careful cellaring for several years.
