Matt Harrop - Winemaker

Shadowfax is managed by winemaker Matt Harrop, a New Zealander with great experience in vineyards and winemaking. Matt started working in wineries when he was 17, attending Roseworthy Agricultural College in South Australia.

In his travels, Matt has spent time in the picturesque vineyards of Italy and Moldova, and just before joining Shadowfax, he worked at the Brokenwood Winery in the Hunter Valley and at Nautilus in Marlborough, New Zealand.



 

Stephen Bell – Cellar Door Manager

Stephen has spent most of his working life emersed in the delicious world of food and wine. Before arriving at Shadowfax mid-way through 2005, Stephen was managing the bar operations at EQ Café Bar and Richmond Hill Café & Larder. He also has experience as a sommelier and a barista and loves the art of cheese and wine matching.

Stephen’s a gun cricketer and in his spare time, he likes to hike, rock climb, collect wine and cook.
